President Donald Trump, who once vehemently claimed that it was he who brought about a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor, now seems to be scrambling for someone to cause Iran to calm down. It is like Govinda standing on the road and saying, कोई ऑटो दिलवा दो भैया।
Donald Trump would have made his country spend much more on the war than what he wanted to collect through enhanced tariffs. The war, meanwhile, has highlighted a lot about today's world:
- The near-paralysis of the UNO and the Security Council is frightening.
- In the absence of the UNO and the Security Council, is there any power in the world that can catch the hands of the warring countries and say "Enough!
- Iran has shown that low-cost drones can be manufactured by the hundreds each day and cause punitive damage to the most powerful countries of the world.
- In the days to come, if manufacture of drones becomes a part of cottage-industry, then all sorts of terrorist and other organisations can cause havoc.
- The war has also shown how the war effort can be handed over to the AI, which can then cause destruction on behalf of humanity.
President Donald Trump is put to the hard task of counting what he has achieved through the war.
Meanwhile, in our country the opposition is happy. Their hopes are now pinned on the unrest likely to be caused by shortage of fuel and cooking gas. Unfortunately for them, we Indians prefer stability over turmoil.
Tomorrow, let us see if we can identify methods of tackling the crisis created by the shortage of fuel and gas.
